Bible Journaling is more than just doodling &/or coloring in your Bible. It is a meeting of the Creator and the Created through a meditative study and creative process...it allows you to express what His word is speaking to you in bold and beautiful ways.
So is this new creative devotional time only for those who are "artsy" or are uber talented and can "paint and draw"? The answer is a resounding NO!! Many folks are enjoying this process without the benefit of any artistic bent at all. In fact there is no right or wrong way to do Bible Journaling!
So how could you go wrong?! There are a few things that those of us who have been practicing this somewhat new phenomenon have learned work better than others and we are still learning...Things that we can pass on to others so that someone who is venturing into this type of bible study for the first time can benefit from our experiences. For instance we have discovered certain types of pens that don't bleed through the page to the other side, stickers that work better in certain areas or the wonders of washi tape (it's the new duct tape of creative arts) and so much more!! There are journaling Bibles that contain pre-printed artwork to color in or just space alloted to create your own designs; there are stickers and embellishments designed just for this creative process, as well as, great tutorials online and no end of ideas on Pinterest!
We have a selection of stickers, pens, pencils, stamps and ink in store now; along with several different journaling Bibles...of course there are ways to use other Bibles and we even have a separate Illustrating Journal for those who love the idea of creative Bible Journaling but are not sure they are comfortable with drawing in their Bibles. Come into the store and check out these options and there are more items arriving all the time!
We had our first Bible Journaling Workshop at Cornerstone on Tuesday, June 21st (and we hope to have more in the near future) and there were so many ideas traded and enjoyed together as a group...but most importantly we came together in the appreciation and time spent in the word of God...creatively so!!

Despite needing a heart transplant and against the advice of her doctor, Mary Catherine moves to Uganda to work at a brand-new orphanage. Whatever time she has left, Mary Catherine wants to spend it helping children - especially since there will be no children of her own. The only problem is Major League Baseball player Marcus Dillinger, the man she never meant to fall in love with. Neither Marcus nor Mary Catherine's other friends - Tyler Ames and Sami Dawson - know just how serious her heart condition is.
Still, Marcus is sure in the depths of his soul that something isn't right. Ultimately, his correspondence with Mary Catherine leads him on a desperate life-or-death mission to rescue her and get her to a US hospital before time runs out. Meanwhile, Sami and Tyler struggle with issues of their own. In a season when Tyler plans to ask Sami to marry him, the very core of their relationship is in jeopardy.

Come to the Garden by Jennifer Wilder Morgan
A novel based on true experiences, Come to the Garden is a story about a woman’s journey with a mysterious angel that encourages readers to believe heaven is closer than they think.
Years ago, author Jennifer Wilder Morgan served as a hospital volunteer, visiting critically ill patients—praying with them and listening to their stories. As she created a safe space for those of all faiths and backgrounds, patients began confiding in Morgan about the mysterious ways God speaks to them—including encounters with angels, visions of loved ones who've passed on, and messages of comfort spoken in dreams. She witnessed the profound healing that occurs when people are permitted to talk about these experiences, and as a result, Morgan was inspired to share her own personal encounters with God in a novel.
In Come to the Garden, the main character Jenn wakes up on her birthday to find an angel introducing herself as Margaret in the backyard garden. Lately Jenn has been struggling to make sense of the mysterious ways God has been speaking to her and is trying to understand what he wants her to know. The angel takes Jenn back through her memories and life experiences, revealing how God has been connecting with her all along. Under the angel’s guidance, Jenn finally understands the messages God has been speaking to her, in her dreams, divine promptings, and unexplained coincidences. It becomes clear that God is a faithful and persistent pursuer of the human heart.
Framed as a series of conversations between Jenn and her guardian angel, this unconventional and charming narrative will strike deep into the hearts of anyone seeking a greater understanding of God. Come to the Garden is an inspirational fictional story about the surprising ways God works in our lives and affirms that heaven is truly closer than we think.
Risen A Powerful Novelization of the 2016 movie from Bestselling Author Angela Hunt
Epic in scope, yet deeply personal, this novelization offers a unique perspective on the story of the resurrection. Roman Tribune Clavius is assigned by Pilate to keep the radical followers of the recently executed Yeshua from stealing the body and inciting revolution. When the body goes missing despite his precautions, Clavius must hunt it down.
His investigation leads him from the halls of Herod Antipas to the Garden of Gethsemane and brings him in touch with believer and doubter alike. But as the body still remains missing, Clavius commits to a quest for the truth--and answers that will not only shake his life but echo throughout all of history.
War Room A Novelization by Chris Fabry
Veteran author Chris Fabry (The Song) once again writes a novel based on a movie, this time depicting Alex and Stephen Kendrick’s film about a family on the brink of self-destruction. Pharmaceutical rep Tony Jordan and his realtor wife, Elizabeth, may be successful in their careers, but their routine marriage is gasping for breath. Tony’s frequent travels open him up to temptation, pride, and self-deception, while Elizabeth flounders and feels bitter while working at home with their daughter and her. Clara, Elizabeth’s elderly new client, sees the woman’s emotional turmoil and introduces her to the transformational power of prayer. With Clara’s support and encouragement, Elizabeth begins praying for her relationship, and as the changes come, the couple starts opening up to years of overdue communication and a healing that often hurts. As their feelings are laid bare, the stress is overshadowed by hope and grace—an encouraging message. With a strong emphasis on family values and biblical themes, this story challenges churchgoing readers to act on their belief in the power of prayer.
